Carl had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace in camping and spending time at the lake. He was happiest with a grill going and a NASCAR race on TV every Sunday. A passionate Pittsburg Steelers fan, never missed a chance to catch a game — no matter the sport.
Carl was preceded in death by his loving parents and his brothers, Vince and David and granddaughter Olivia Howard. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janice Cummings; his son, Michael Cummings and wife Tari Cummings; and his daughter, Julia Howard. Carl was a proud grandfather to Autumn Venzor and her husband Matt Skelton, Chase Cummings and his wife Sierra Cummings, Alexander Howard. His love continued through to his seven great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, Carl requested that donations be made to the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my.fca.org/michaelcummings an organization close to his heart.
Carl’s life was a testament to faith, family, and simple joys. His memory will live on in every laugh around a campfire, every game day cheer, and every act of kindness inspired by the love he shared
