Charles was born on December 9, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Roy G. Sr. and Velma Fox Gamble. He married Charlotte Maneely in July of 1952 in Henrietta, Texas. He was a retire independent plumbing contractor and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the former Westside Baptist Church and loved fishing, cars, his grandsons, and family time. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Roy Gamble, Jr. and Jerry Lynn Gamble. He was also preceded in death by his grandson: Kevin Ray Compton and niece Alisa Gamble Ayres.
Survivors include his wife: Charlotte Gamble of Wichita Falls; daughter Vicki J. Compton and husband Ronald of Wichita Falls; grandson: Michael Compton of Winston Salem, North Carolina; nephews: Gorman Gamble and wife Cathy and Brad Gamble and wife Beckey; nieces: Tanya Stevens and Julie Skepworth and husband Scott; and many great-nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
