Daisy B Woods

Funeral Services for Daisy Baker Woods will be at 11 AM, Saturday at the Anderson Chapel AME Church in Wichita Falls, Texas with the Rev. Mary Wilson-Horsley officiating. A visitation for the family will be held from 6 – 8 PM, Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan at Crestview Memorial Park.

Daisy Baker Woods was born April 26, 1926 in Eufaula, Alabama to the union of Jessie and Rose Ann Baker.

She accepted Christ at an early age, and united with the Mt. Level Baptist Church, serving there until moving to Wichita Falls, TX. She later united with Gilbert Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in 1972 and remained a faithful until her health would not allow her to attend. She was a member of the choir, Missionary President and Stewardess.

Daisy was united in marriage to Walter A. Woods on February 21, 1944. To that union were four children, Carolyn Woods, Bettye (Woods) Daly, David L. Woods and Joyce (Woods) Lewis. Daisy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

On Saturday, November, 28, 2015, Daisy Baker Woods was called to Glory where she will not have to suffer anymore. Daisy is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Walter, son David, daughter Joyce and 15 siblings.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Carolyn Woods, Bettye Woods-Daly, 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Autumn, David, and China; 5 great-grandchildren, Justice, Demetrius, Lovell, DeAsia, and Cadence and a host of other family and friends.
