On May 25, 1968, Danny married the love of his life, Carolyn, in Wichita Falls, Texas, beginning a devoted partnership that would span more than five decades.
After his military service, Danny dedicated 20 years to the Wichita Falls Fire Department, where he served with courage and commitment. During his tenure, he also served as President of the Fire Fighters Association and was the recipient of both the Meritorious Service Award and the Distinguished Service Award, recognizing his exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to the community.
During his career with the fire department, Danny also became a successful business owner, founding K&D Insulation and Choctaw Contractors, exemplifying his tireless work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He was the truest definition of a self-made man.
Danny was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation, a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and a longtime member of Grace Church. He had a love for the open road and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson on trips across the country with his buddies, a passion that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for freedom.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Shaye Lipscomb, and her husband, Rik; his cherished granddaughters, Carson Grace and Dani Caroline, who lovingly knew him as “Chief”; his brother, Douglas Platt; and his loyal dog, Duffy Lee.
