

Dennis graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1970. He then served nobly in the Navy from 1971 to 1974 on the USS Marvin Shields. Following his military service, Dennis worked at Stanley Tools before joining the City of Wichita Falls, where he contributed to the Multi-Purpose Events Center (MPEC) and subsequently retired as a Transportation Administrator on August 1, 2019.
On May 22, 1976, Dennis married Robbie Gayle Sperry in Wichita Falls, Texas. A devoted family man, Dennis was always cherished by those who knew him. He possessed a remarkable ability to fix or build anything and had a passion for cooking, especially enjoying preparing burgers, ribs, brisket, and enchiladas.
Despite bravely fighting Parkinson's disease since January 2010, Dennis left a legacy characterized by his resilience and skill. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by those who loved him.
Dennis is preceded in passing by his parents Warren Franklin Burket Jr. and Betty Jean Jacks Burket.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Robbie Sperry Burket; daughters Kim Childs and her husband Matthew, and Amy Wolfe and her husband Casey; grandchildren Braden and Brooklyn Childs, Aubrie, Carter, Cameron Wolfe, and Gabby Leija; his brother Ken Burket and wife Carolyn; and nephews Jeff Burket and his wife Moira, along with their children Ava and Ian, and Brian Burket.
Funeral services will include a visitation service on January 12, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas. The funeral service is scheduled for January 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. Dennis will be laid to rest during a burial service on January 15, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
