Dolores O Montgomery

Dolores and Edward Leija Alvarez were united in marriage on January 17, 1955. To this union 5 children were born. Carmen Alvarez Howard, Sarah Alvarez, Edward Alvarez, Yolanda Stella Alvarez Hettwer, and Sofia Louisa Alvarez Sweet.

Dolores and Carroll Brett Montgomery were united in marriage in 1975. To this union a son, Michael Anthony Montgomery was added.

Dolores was a seamstress most of her life, starting in Chicago, IL at Malina’s dress shop. She continued working that occupation after moving to Altus, Oklahoma at Jack’s Rose and Hughes Cleaners. After years in New Orleans, she relocated to Wichita Falls, TX and continued operating her business on Hampstead Lane until the time of her death. She amassed quite a few loyal clients during her 55-plus career. She was a consummate professional in her trade.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her son Edward Alvarez. Several brothers, sisters, brother’s-in law, sister’s-in-laws, and son-in-law Andy Sweet Jr. Eleven grandchildren,16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
