Dorothy Knox

Dorothy Jean Knox age 97, went home to the lord on Monday June 6, 2022. She was born in Los Angeles, California on August 29, 1924, to Florence and Willard Carrier. Dorothy grew up in Santa Paula, California with her parents and her older brother Floyd. Dorothy worked for the Department of the Navy and retired after 35 years of employment as a civilian employee. Dorothy married Earl Howard and had two children, Larry and Carol. Her first marriage ended in divorce, and she remarried Billi Knox, and had one additional child, Kathy. Dorothy and Billie were married for 64 years. She is survived by her children and many grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member at the First Baptist Church in Oxnard, California and was an active member for many years. After her retirement from the Department of the Navy she moved to Apple Valley, California where she was active member in her Sunday school class. While in Apple Valley, she was also a very active member in the AARP and was part of the executive board. She lived in Apple Valley, for many years until her and her husband’s health turned bad and then were moved to Texas to live with their Daughter, Kathy, and her Husband.
