Dorothy Dean Roberts

Dorothy Roberts, longtime resident of Wichita Falls, passed away in Cedar Park, Texas on February 6, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Lawson officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on April 30, 1926 in Wichita Falls. She was married to Lee Royce Roberts on August 23, 1944 and they were together for over 64 years until he preceded her in death on August 28, 2009. Dorothy loved to work in her yard and tend to her roses. She was an excellent seamstress and worked for several of the clothing stores in Wichita Falls. She also enjoyed playing the domino game of ‘42’ with family and friends.

Survivors include her two children, Myrna Wood of Ft. Fairfield, Maine and Greg Roberts of Round Rock, Texas; sisters, Myretta Holzer of Smithville, Tx., Peggy Bowman, Jimmie Baker and Mary Helen Tillerson all of Wichita Falls; brother, Eddie Walker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jason Wood of Augusta, GA., Courtney Tuck of Killeen, Tx., Tandi Smith of Corinth, Tx. And Lexis Roberts of Round Rock, Tx.; great grandchild, Savannah Wood of Augusta, GA.
