Dorothy Mae Whatley (Sipes) entered her final rest on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the age of 93. Graveside Services and interment will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. No formal visitation is scheduled.
She was born in Commerce, Texas on June 22, 1922 to Charles and Berdie Williams. Dorothy met and married Ernest E. Whatley, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas in 1939. They had two sons, Larry E. Whatley currently of Wichita Falls and Carlton (Carl) L. Whatley and his wife Sharon of Bowie, TX.
Her first husband, Ernest, passed away in 1968. In 1972, she married Darrol Sipes of Maryland and to this marriage they had a daughter, Carlette Sipes of North Carolina. Dorothy had two brothers, both preceding her in death. Dorothy is also survived by two grandsons, one granddaughter, five great grandsons, two great granddaughters and a good friend and member of the family, Darryl Kavanagh. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
