

Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt McCauley officiating. Burial will follow at Petrolia Cemetery, Petrolia, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Edna was born on September 25, 1918 in Byers, Texas. She was the daughter of James T. and Dora Alice (Haney) Taylor. She attended Pecan Grove School and graduated from Petrolia High School in 1935. In 2012, she received an award for being the oldest student to attend the Petrolia High School reunion. Edna was a retired Wichita Falls State Hospital nurse. She married Edwin L. McCauley on August 1, 1937 in Henrietta, Texas. After his death in 1969, Edna married James D. McDaniel on January 27, 1979. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Edna was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Raymond Taylor, James Elmer Taylor, and William Alvin Taylor, sisters Verna White and Ramona Evans.
Edna is survived by her sons Ron McCauley and his wife, Shirley of Wichita Falls, and Eddie McCauley and his wife, Dede of Wichita Falls; sisters Doris Walter, and Jean Massie and her husband Don of Wichita Falls; brother Kenneth Loven and his wife Jane of Lakeside City; grandchildren Ronda McGovern of Denver, Colorado, Rachele Hammond and her husband Patrick of Plano, Texas, Matthew McCauley and his wife Ashley of Lewisville, Texas, and Patrick McCauley and his wife Lindzi of Lakeside City, Texas; great-grandchildren Lauren McGovern, Carter and Kendal Hammond, Reid, Maci, Wyatt, and Maddi McCauley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Petrolia Baptist church at the age of 17. She had been a member of Sunnyside, Fairway, and First Baptist Churches. She was a member and attended Faith Baptist Church through her late 80’s. For the past few years, Edna attended bible study classes and services at Royal Estates. Her faith in God has been passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Edna lived “Royally” at the Royal Estates for the last eight years of her life. She enjoyed playing “42”, Bingo, “Chicken Foot,” and visiting with her friends and her sister Doris and brother Al. She kept her apartment immaculate and was proud to show off her lavender decorations, giraffe collection, and her beloved parakeet “Precious.” Edna was affectionately known as “Nanny” by her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others. She was a loving, caring, strong, Christian woman that was a wonderful example for her family.
Edna passed away peacefully at Hospice under the loving care of the Hospice nurses and staff. The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice or the Petrolia Cemetery Association, PO Box 445 Petrolia, Texas 76377.
