

SMSgt Edward Adams was born Jan 20, 1941 in Dorchester, Georgia to the late Arthur and Lula Adams. He graduated from Liberty County High School with honors and perfect attendance. Awarded the Outstanding achievement in band and the Merit Award L for band for "Best all around boy" from 1959-1961 even playing football during that time. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force, with many assignments, basic training at Lackland AFB, TX, next Turner AFB, GA, Bogota, Colombia, San Paulo, Brazil, Pago Pago, Samoa Islands, Don Muang RTAFB, Thailand, Wright Patterson AFB, OH, Heidelberg, Germany, Opheim and Kalispell, Mt. Buckley AFB, Colorado, Upper Heyford, England, and last but not least, Sheppard AFB, TX.
His accomplishments during his time of military service; included a Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster; AF Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters; AF Outstanding Unit award with five oak leaf clusters; AF Good Conduct Medal with seven oak leaf clusters; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars; AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon.
AF Overseas Long Term Tour Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster; AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with six oak leaf clusters; NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon; AF Training Ribbon; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He graduated from Wayland Baptist University on March 3, 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education. He retired as Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 28 years of service of Informational Management (Admin). He has worked at the City Health Department for 23 years.
But his life truly began when he met Annie Lucile Miller-Adams and they were wed on 25 Dec 1966. They have been married 58 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Eddricka Kumar, husband Devinder Kumar and Katja (Tonia) Dickerson and husband Reggie Dickerson. Four grandchildren, Shania, Kyle, Nevaeh and Reggie JR. There was no doubt that he was a family man who loved his family and the memories that they shared over the years. His hunting, fishing and camping was a big part of his life.
But Edward loved his Lord and Savior, he would not allow anything to interfere with serving the Lord, if something was going on at New Harvest, he would be there and he loved singing. He was committed to witnessing and letting others know the goodness of God. His life was full, fruitful and inspiration to others, always a giving spirit.
Edward is preceded in death by his sisters; Margaret Roberts and Deloris Adams Johnson and brother, McArthur Adams. He is survived by his sister Rose Marie Brown, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
A visitation for Edward will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM at New Harvest Church, 1401 Red Fox Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76306, a graveside service will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, 4441 Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.
