Edward was born October 8, 1919 in Pittsburgh PA to Anthony and Stella Trztinska Jeski. He served our country first in the CCC and then retired from the United States Air Force. After his military career he continued to serve our country in civil service as a federal buildings manager. He married Mildred “Mela” Mattox November 2, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN and together they raised three children. Ed was a member of the Polish-American Culture Society and the German-American Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and DAV. He attended the annual WWII Veterans Reunions and was the last living member of his regiment. He could recall and relate details of his military career in vivid details. He drove the AL-CAN highway the entire length on gravel the first year it was opened to the public when he was stationed in Alaska. He loved being able to teach his son many of life’s useful tools. Ed loved to deep-sea fish, and travel. He toured Poland when it was still a communist country, and vacationed in Florida every year and took many cruises.
