Elizabeth was born in Newcastle, Texas, to Robert Davis McKinney and Eulalia Collins McKinney, and spent her childhood enjoying the blessings that only children raised in rural North Texas can understand. She graduated from Newcastle High School where she was a cheerleader and was involved in all the school had to offer. She married the love of her life, James Reagan Lindley, and to this union were born four children, Malinda, James, Janie and Rob.
Elizabeth devoted her life completely to her husband and family, and was a dedicated homemaker. She cherished her children, and without exception, placed them and their needs ahead of her own. She consistently demonstrated selfless love, and in later years even relocated to help care for family members. This is what she valued.
She was a life-long member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Reagan Lindley, and daughter, Melinda Shipman.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children: James Lindley, Janie Lindley, Rob Lindley and wife Margaret, and son-in-law John Shipman; grandchildren: Kevin Lindley, Kristi Williams, Andrew Shipman, Ashley Shipman, Ann Lindley, and Amanda Barganier; and two great-great grandchildren: Reagan and Hudson Williams.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, at 3:00 PM, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will be held prior to the service at 1:30 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park.
