Gail M Warren

Gail Mildred (Mackey) Warren was born on July 27, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois to Arnold Earl Mackey and Lorene Holly. The family relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1948. It was there that Mr. Mackey secured a job with the MK and T Railroad. Gail attended Raegan Junior High with her best childhood friend Jeanine Harbes. They both attended Wichita Falls High School and graduated in 1953. Following her graduation, Gail went to work for Southwestern Bell until her retirement in 1990. She married Raymond Loyd Warren on June 13, 1954 following his military service in the US Army. They had one son, Raymond Earl Warren, born June 3, 1956.

Gail lived in Wichita Falls until 2024 when she moved to be closer to her son in Arlington, Texas due to health reasons. She lived at Brookdale Assisted Living in Mansfield, Texas where she loved and cared for until her death.

She is preceded in death by her one year old baby brother, Sonny Mackey, in 1936; father, Arnold Mackey, in 1972; husband, Raymond, in 1996; and mother, Lorene Mackey, in 2010.

Gail is survived by her son Ray, or Scooter, (Ana) of Arlington, Texas; grandsons Aaron (Lauren) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; Tim (Jamie) of Fort Worth, Texas; Curtis Warren of Farmers Branch, Texas and 3 great granddaughters.

Gail loved her family and would often talk about her grandsons spending spring break at her house every school year and going to the movies with them. She also loved watching the Cowboys on Sundays and watching the First Baptist service on TV every Sunday. She was an avid reader and loved animals, often feeding the neighborhood cats, birds and squirrels.

She will be missed at the assisted living home where she enjoyed a monthly salon visit, made sweet friends and was loved and well cared for by her caregivers who would say she was "the party" for her unique sense of humor and wit.

A graveside service for Gail will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76302. A reception will follow inside. HamptonVaughanCrestview.com
