Gay Nell (Morren) Allen age 81, wife of Wayne Allen, went to her heavenly mansion on the hill, Saturday April 9, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Hospice of Wichita Falls.
She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, granny, and an unshakable Christian. Gay was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 11, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents Margie Lee and James Newton “Buster” Morren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers: who were all waiting in heaven to greet her. She grew up in both Childress and Wichita Falls, Texas. Gay graduated from Childress High School on May 28, 1959, and on that same day married the love of her life, Wayne Allen. The two would have shared their 63rd wedding anniversary this May. Gay and Wayne became parents to five beautiful daughters: Alisha Gaye Allen, Susan Diane Allen, Julie Waynell Hering (Ryan), Beth Ann Majewski (Oyvind Zahl) and Kristie Lee Johnson (Rob). Over the next several years they welcomed 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Gay loved being a stay-at-home mother for her girls and would continue throughout the years helping to love and care for her grandchildren. Despite her large family Gay always made time for everyone. She always provided support, love, prayers, and attention for her family. She and Wayne worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids and grandchildren. Gay was one who would proudly boast about all of the many accomplishments of her family and loved attending her grandchildren’s school or athletic events. Gay enjoyed seeing God’s beauty here on earth traveling all over the world with her husband. Her favorite place to be though was Alaska. She felt at peace sitting silently on her balcony on a cruise hearing the waves dance against the ship, watching the mountains and animals pass by. Gay was always able to find God’s presence in the simplest of things.
We know that her time here on Earth has come to an end, but we are overjoyed knowing that she is among the angels and light of God. We take heart in knowing that she is at peace and watching over us every day. Gay, (Honey, Mom, Granny) we cannot wait to join you in heaven, but until that day, know that we love you higher than the sky, deeper the deepest ocean and a super googolplex.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live – John 11:25
