George R. Morris Sr.

George Robert Morris, Sr. was born in McAlister, Oklahoma on September 17, 1938, the youngest child of Enoch and Vada Morris. He left for his heavenly home on August 11, 2026. The celebration of George’s life will be at 11:00 am on August 14, 2026 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel, 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, Texas.

George proudly served 24 years in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the Air Force, he spent another 35 years working at the motor pool at Sheppard Air Force Base. He was a true blue-collar worker who took pride in doing things the right way. He rarely missed a day of work and taught us, by example, the value of hard work, commitment, responsibility, and simply showing up. He didn’t need recognition or praise; he just did what needed to be done and took care of the people he loved.

We are deeply thankful for all the years we were blessed to have with him. He was a present father who always showed up. He wasn’t the loudest in the crowd, but his quiet support was one of the greatest gifts he ever gave to our family. Whether it was showing up to his son’s sporting events or to his daughter’s choir concerts, he was always there. His greatest accomplishment wasn’t the years he spent serving his country or the countless hours he spent working, it was being a dad.

We will miss him very much - his voice, his stories, and simply knowing he was there.

Surviving George, is son Bob and wife Trina, daughter Danna and husband Scott West, and son Vance and wife Mitzi. Six precious grandchildren: Kaleigh and husband Colby Wilson, Matt and wife Meredith West, Garrett Morris and wife Haley Kelley, Grace and husband Hayden Berend, and Gavin Morris. Five great grandchildren: Kaison & Maggie Morris and their mother Jill Morris, Calvin & Owen West, and Lainey Berend.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Donella Morris; his parents Enoch and Vada Morris, daughter-in-law Karen Morris, & grandson Bobby Morris.

The family will receive visitors at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home, 1917 Archer City Hwy, Wichita Falls, TX, on August 14, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, immediately preceding his celebration of life service.
