

Gregory was born on March 16, 1955, in Cincinnatti, Ohio, to Michael Lewis Yost and Audrey Steelman Yost. He was one of three children born to this union. He earned his Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering degree from Southwestern University, and his master’s degree in business administration from Friends University, both in Kansas.
He married the love of his life, Cathy, on May 18, 1974, in Cincinnatti, Ohio, and together they formed a beautiful family that was blessed with two sons, Chris and Andy.
Gregory was employed as an engineer with Pratt and Whitney in Wichita Falls, and was highly regarded as an expert in his engineering field. He gave of his talents in many areas. He was a member of North Texas Field and Stream, and through this affiliation taught children to appreciate the art of marksmanship. He was a proud member of the Maskat Shrine Temple and volunteered his time for numerous causes through this organization. He was a member of Texas State Rifle Association and served in a regional capacity, setting up local marksmanship matches. He was passionate about his gun collection and enjoyed target shooting, skeet and reloading ammunition.
He was a loyal husband and father, and cherished time with his wife, sons, and grandchildren, who lovingly called him Grampy.
Gregory’s parents, Michael and Audrey Yost, preceded him in death.
Those remaining to cherish Gregory’s memory are his wife, Cathy; sons Chris Yost and wife Kelli, and Andy Yost; three grandchildren, Reagan Yost, Collin Yost and Eli Smith; and two sisters, Becky Bernsden and Glenna Marsh.
A celebration of Gregory’s life will be held on Monday, July 13th, at 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation prior to the service from 1:00-2:00. Family will receive guests in the Stateroom of Remembrance during the visitation hour.
