Helen L. Boyd, 92, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10am Saturday, February 28, at The Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel, with Chief Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 27, from 6pm to 8pm at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Helen was born on November 20, 1922 to Lee and Mattie Rawlins in Locust, Texas. She married Bennie “B.A.” Boyd in Sherman, Texas on April 22, 1939. Helen was a labor and delivery nurse before providing childcare in her own home for many years. She made a huge impact on the lives of so many children as their “Mamaw”. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie; her daughter, Charlotte Delph; and her parents and siblings.
Helen is survived by son, Sherwin Boyd and wife, Sherry of Colorado; son, Joseph Boyd of Wichita Falls; and son, Mark Boyd of Colorado along with twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
