There will be a family graveside service under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX.
She was born April 2, 1931 to Carl and Lucille Bowman of Holliday, TX. She was a graduate of Holliday High School and married the love of her life, Ted Gilbert in September 1948. She worked at White’s Auto Store for 30 years and later Raymond’s Welding in Kamay.
Helen loved to watch and support her son and granddaughter in sports. She never missed an event and was a loud and proud fan. Her passion was her family and she was excited to recently become a great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted Gilbert, and sisters Joyce Bland and Nelda Dearing.
She is survived by her son Gill Gilbert, and wife Kim of Pilot Point, TX, grand daughter Samantha Cates, and husband Josh of Aubrey, TX, great-grandson Maverick Cates, brother J.W. “Bud” Bowman, and wife Carolyn, and several nieces and nephews.
