Hiram Hanson, 97, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 in Wichita Falls. He was born on March 11, 1917 in Holman, Wisconsin to the late Hans Hanson and Emma Thoreson Hanson. On June 6, 1943 he married Nina Luwter in Wichita Falls. She preceded him in death in February, 2004. Mr. Hanson retired in 1981 as an Aircraft Instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II. He was a member of 10th and Broad Church of Christ for over 70 years where he served as a deacon. Mr. Hanson will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and smile and for his love of wood working.
He is survived by his children, Angelia Butterbaugh and husband Gary of Cincinnati, OH, Eric Hanson and wife Joni of Ft. Worth and Tony Price of Kansas; grandchildren, Heather Sheehan and husband Ken, Tobie Reynolds and husband Tom, Adam Butterbaugh and wife Leslie, Erin Lambert and husband Levi and Jennifer Irwin and husband Brian; 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10th and Broad Church of Christ with Ken Holsberry officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
