

Hope LaVerne Young passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, in Dallas Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2pm Friday, February 20, at Floral Heights United Methodist Church, under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home, with Reverend Merwyn Turner officiating.
Hope was born on August 17, 1924 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Carroll and Evelyn Mercer. Hope married Robert “Harold” Young in 1955. They resided in Wichita Falls for over 50 years. Both Hope and Harold were members of Floral Heights United Methodist Church. They were members of the Anniversary Sunday School class there. Together, they enjoyed family camping trips to Colorado with the Anniversary class. They loved the outdoors. Hope was active in the Food pantry at church. She was the sweetest lady in the world. People often referred to her as “Aunt Bee” from The Andy Griffith Show; she was a very loving individual.
Hope is preceded in death by her husband; Robert Harold Young, in 1991, and one brother; Carroll “Bud” Mercer.
Surviving relatives include 2 daughters; Lisa Young Neal of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kamme Young Wirz of Dallas, Texas, Three grandchildren; Melissa Neal, Kara Wirz, and Kristen Wirz, one Great grandson; Kashtian Neal, Two sisters; Dorothy Mercer Jefferson of Ohio, and Ann Mercer Morris of Branson, Missouri, and one brother; Jim Mercer of Missouri City, Texas.
