Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 in Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Gene Holley officiating. Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on September 23, 1942 to Faye and Jerry Bennett in Snyder, Oklahoma. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, Texas where he and his wife, Patricia, raised 3 children. He was a proud Reserve Fort Worth Police Officer in the late 60’s and 70’s and then a long distance truck driver hauling steel and towers all over the U.S. and Canada. He enjoyed his life, and after retiring he loved to sit on his back porch watching the trucks go by and the cows and horses in the pasture. He loved his family, especially his 3 grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy and son Randy.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kelley Bennett; children Steve Bennett and Stacey Reid; grandchildren Taylor, Carson and Kaitlyn Reid; brothers Bill Bennett, Homer Bennett and sister Jeanie Gurganus.
