Jerry Wayne Morris was born in Wichita Falls, TX, on November 14, 1949, to Calvin Cyrus and Nannie Cordelia (Greer) Morris. He was the baby of 10 children. Jerry grew up and went to school in Wichita Falls, and Byers, TX., graduating in Byers in 1968. After graduating he joined the Army, married his first wife Mary (Prescott) and was sent off to fight in Vietnam. After Vietnam he had a daughter and then in 1972 lost his wife to cancer. A few years later he met and married Rena Cassatt and gained another daughter. They together had a daughter and son to complete the family.
Jerry left the Army as a SP4 in 1977. He provided for his family by working for Dowell Tool and Wichita Falls Manufacturing Co. as a machinist. He was also a great caregiver to his wife till her passing 5 years ago.
Jerry was the most kind person you would ever meet. He was quiet, soft spoken, funny and respectful. He loved gardening and making hot sauce and a big fan of watching anything on T.V. He loved his siblings and his family he created very much. He especially loved children, probably because he was just a big kid at heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Mary; his wife of 44 years, Rena; brothers, Calvin and Virgil Morris; sisters, Eloise Holder, Wanda Mattingly, Genita Lewis, Linda Friend and Patsy Clark.
Jerry is survived by 2 sisters, Doris (Dot) Evans and Shirley Ervin; daughters, Sonya Fulfer and husband Lance, Brenna Sigman and Monica Morris; 1 son Kyle Morris; 10 grandchildren, Jonathon Morris, Jordon Kern (Jordan), Jaiden Fulfer, Kaylin Morris, Rodie Sigman (Chelsey), Emberly Morris, Jessica Morris, Damian Humphrey, Lila Morris and Bailey Morris; 8 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jailen, Daniel, Jayce, Connar, Coopar, Kohda, Rhylee, and a baby girl on the way. Also his dog Jill that he loved so much.
