John A. Earhart

John A. Earhart, 71, of Wichita Falls passed away, Sunday, October 07, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Shields of Faith Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Earhart was born January 5, 1941 to the late Albert and Edna (Myers) Earhart and was a native of Masury, Ohio. After graduation from high school, he entered the U. S. Air Force in 1959 and retired as Tech Sergeant in 1979. He married Norma J. McCubbin on December 19, 1964 at Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon, TX and they traveled the world during his service. After his Air Force Retirement, they moved to Wichita Falls where he worked for Custom Metals Services until his retirement in 2003. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. John was an avid photographer and Railfan and had many of his photographs published in several magazines and books. He was a member of the Air Force Association and the Air Force Sergeants’ Association.

Survivors are his wife, Norma J. Earhart; son, Dr. Mark A. Earhart and wife, Sherryl of Athens, GA; two grandsons; brothers, Charles Earhart of North Carolina and Daniel Earhart of Masury, OH; mother-in-law, Oleta McCubbin of Wichita Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., 76310 or to the American Cancer Society, 2304 Midwestern Pkwy., Suite 206, Wichita Falls, TX. 76308.
