He was born on March 25, 1938 in Denison, Texas and was a radio announcer for many years. He was a member of the Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife Ava Hess in 2018.
He is survived by three children: Mark, Tammy, and Sheldon Hess; and his brother in law: Doak Bishop of Dallas.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel.
