Joseph W. Bussey, Jr., 87, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Bishop of Southwest Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Bussey was born January 17, 1926 in Wichita Falls to Joseph W. Bussey, Sr. and Annie (May) Bussey as was a lifetime resident. He married Beulah Avon Burns on June 4, 1949 in Henrietta, TX. He was Presbyterian by faith. Mr. Bussey was a World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Army from 1944 until 1947. Mr. Bussey owned and operated a TV repair business, laid carpet, worked as a cleaner at Nobby Cleaners and was a custodian at Midwestern State University for 16 years until his retirement in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Beulah, who died April 22, 1986; sisters, Juanita Lee (2007), Yvonne Litteken (2002), Rebekah Harmon (1992) and Ruth Bussey (1997); half siblings, Autie Bussey and Pauline Bussey.
Survivors include his children, Cathy Thomas and husband Ron of Whitney, TX, Joseph W. Bussey, III and wife, Natalie of Lubbock, TX and Margaret Bussey of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas of Nashville, TN, Stephanie Wood and husband, David of Lubbock and Michael Bussey of Pampa, TX; great grandchildren, Trenton, Taylor, Samuel, Aubrey and Austin Wood all of Lubbock.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorial donations to the Humane Society of Wichita County, 4360 Old Iowa Park Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76305.
