Juanita Louise Guffey went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2021. She was born in Maud, TX on March 8, 1935 to Harvey and Ruby Mckee where she grew up the oldest of four in Arkansas. Nita met the love of her life, John Henry Guffey, while picking cotton with her family in Cooper, TX. They were married November 7, 1950 and in 2020 celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. In 1953, they were blessed with their one and only son, Johnny Guffey. Nita worked for Parker and Piggly Wiggly for 25 years as a checker before retiring to stay at home caring for her family.
Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family first and foremost always going the extra mile. She also loved cooking, holidays, gardening, and going to garage sales.
Nita is survived by her husband, John H Guffey, son, Johnny Guffey and his wife, Debbye, brother, Ray Mckee, grandchildren, Shawn Guffey and Brandy Lancaster, great-grandchildren, Haley, Katlyn, Kaden, Kolin, Karter, and Khloe. She was proceeded in death by both her parents and siblings, Ruth Ivey and Jimmy Mckee.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2 PM, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park.
