KT was born on April 9, 1941 to Ralph Ernest Thomason, Sr. and Hermie Byrum Thomason. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph Ernest “RE” Thomason, Jr.
KT was born in Delight, AR and graduated from Draughon’s Business School in Little Rock, AR. It was here that he met his beautiful wife of 65 years, Ima Jean Simpson Thomason. KT and Ima Jean moved to Wichita Falls, TX in 1960 where he began his 63-1/2 year career in radio and television. KT worked for 24-1/2 years at KAUZ TV Channel 6 and for 39 years at KJTL FOX 18 where he was the Chief Engineer. KT retired from television at the age of 82.
KT thoroughly enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. He was well loved by many relatives, friends, and co-workers. KT and Ima Jean loved going to church and walking through the neighborhood together during retirement. They loved spending time with their devoted family. People knew they were loved by KT when they heard him say, “You have a blessed day!”
KT loved richly and deeply. He is survived by his wife Ima Jean, son Ken Thomason, Jr. and wife Kathy, and daughter Debbie Thomason Hutson and husband Eddie Hutson, all of Wichita Falls; grandsons Tyler, Travis, and Timothy Thomason, and Coby Hutson; and great-grandchildren Kynleigh, Landry, and Noah Thomason, and Rylan Franklin and Camden Thomason.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Hampton-Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.
