Larry Morris Dean
AUGUST 23, 1945 – NOVEMBER 7, 2020
Larry was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma, on August 23, 1945, to Richard Dean and Imojean Witt. He married the love of his life, Sheryle Anita Mealor, at First Baptist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma, on June 23, 1967. They have two children, Cindy and Jeremy.
While serving in the National Guard, Larry began working in Air Craft Engine Component Repair in 1966, spending most of his career with Pratt & Whitney for 31 years. He loved his family more than anything and always put them first. For their 54 years together, Larry and his wife were the best of friends, sharing a love few will ever experience. He loved watching Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football, and could never pass up a good Western. He loved baseball and coached his son’s Little League team. He continued to coach his son in his free time and enjoyed seeing the same love of baseball in his grandson’s eyes as was in his and his son’s. His love of the Oklahoma Sooners only intensified once his oldest granddaughter graduated from OU with an English Writing degree. He enjoyed watching his youngest granddaughter play Volleyball and Dance, and thought she had the potential to be great in both. He took pride in his daughter’s work ethic and had the pleasure of working with her and his son for much of his career. His beautiful smile and kind heart will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his sister, Vicky Carlene Josefy, and his half-brother, Delroy Dean.
Those left to treasure his memory are his wife, Sheryle Dean; his children: Cindy Sheldon and Jeremy Dean; his grandchildren: Jessica Sheldon, Kreasen Dean, and Paelynn Dean; his brother Ricky Dean; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Larry's life is scheduled for Friday, November 13 at 2:00 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel, and visitation will be held Thursday, November 12 from 6-8 PM.
