

Dr. Huff was born on October 24, 1934 in Wichita Falls. In 1958, he graduated from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, where he began his medical career as an orthopedic surgeon. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1965 and was stationed at Brooks Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls. He established his private practice in Wichita Falls in 1967 and continued to serve the community of Wichita Falls as an orthopedic surgeon for forty years. He was an avid member of the Texas Archeological Society and amassed an impressive collection of Native American artifacts. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing for much of his life. He was a former Wichita County Republican Chairman, a member of the County Medical Society, and a member of First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. Over twenty years ago, he purchased a farm in East Texas and began his labor of love in his creation of Caddo Farms, now an expansive blueberry and blackberry farm in Edom, Texas.
Dr. Huff is survived by his five children: Cheryl Thompson, Mark Huff III, Joe E. Huff, Melinda Welch and Jennie Churchman; his sister, Sandra McIlnay; his brother, Jon Huff; five grandchildren and five nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his longtime Caddo Farms manager, Gerardo Robledo and his two caregivers, Cindy Akers and Tommie Bunch.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the charity of your choice. A private family burial service will be held on Friday, October 7, at 1:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. David Hartman officiating. A public memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12 at First Christian Church, 3701 Taft Blvd, Wichita Falls, Texas with Dr. David Hartman and Rev. Jennie Churchman officiating.
