

Mary Frances Blackmon of Nocona, TX went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 3, 2010 after a brief illness. Fran was born March 22, 1944 in New Port, AR to the late Mack and Lola McDaniel. On February 26, 1960 she married her high school sweetheart, Ralph E. Blackmon. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. She was a member of Nocona Hills Community Church where she was active with the A-Hand-Up Ministries.
Fran, or “Boomie”, as she was lovingly referred to by her family, was preceded in death by her parents, her brother L. L. McDaniel and two sisters, Louise Mann and Jo Della Yarbrough.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Cristy Stevens and husband David of Lakeside City and Angela Johnson of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren, Lyndsey and Landon Stevens and Casey Johnson; sister, Dee Kuncinsk and husband David of Nocona; brother-in-law, Eugene Yarbrough of Nocona and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a fantastic cook who took great joy in cooking for others and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Nocona Hills Community Church with pastors Joseph Jernigan and Greg Minassian officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
