July 29, 1947February 16, 2021

Mary Ellen Dunn, 73, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on February 16, 2021 in Henrietta, TX.

Graveside service will be held 10 A.M. Thursday March 4, 2021 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, TX. Visitation will be held March 3, 2021 from 6-7 PM at Hampton Crestview Vaughan Funeral Home.

Mary was born July 30, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX to Bill and Pauline (Roach) Reed. She was married to Donald Dunn, a business owner of Double D Liquor. Mary was a lively and vibrant woman. She loved her family and taught them how to be strong and work hard in life. As a young woman she eagerly started her first job at Levi Strauss. After that she went on to work various jobs, including being the owner and operator of the Hwy Café. She also spent time working at a local flower shop, where she learned how to do all kinds of floral arrangements. This sparked a lifelong passion for making all kinds of things. She taught her children and even grandchildren how to make crafts of all kinds and build things with their hands. She had such a passion that at one time you could joke that she had a designated parking spot at Hobby Lobby. After retirement she enjoyed spending most of her free time with her grandson, Justin, watching the baby rabbits and birds in her backyard, working puzzles, and eating more chocolate than anyone has ever seen. She made many friends through her endeavors and there is no doubt she touched each person’s life. Her laugh, her smile, and her witty personality will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. To know Mary was a true treasure.

Survivors include her son, Donald Dunn Jr; grandchildren, Cody Morgan, and wife, Janna and Justin Morgan; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Charley, and Everlee; Sister, Kathie Bowser, and husband, Brent; nieces, Tammie Taras, and husband, Tommy, and Jannie Taras, and husband, Randy. SO sorry to hear of Mary's passing. It seems that the Dunn family has had more than their share of struggles and sadness the last few years. My thoughts and prayers go out to Don, Justin, and all the family both now and in the difficult days ahead.
