Michelle L Keller

In 1996, she met the love of her life, Jon, on a blind date. Two years later they were married on June 13, 1998.

Michelle graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Weatherford, Oklahoma and then moved with her husband to Wichita Falls, Texas where she taught at Milam and Cunningham Elementary Schools. Michelle loved her job and had a huge impact on her students. They described her as fun, energetic, kind, caring and positive. Michelle was passionate about creating a fun learning environment, providing learning experiences for her students, and she excelled in her career. She was voted by her peers to receive the Campus Teacher of the Year Award multiple times at Milam Elementary. In 2017 she was honored with the Award of District Teacher of the Year for the Wichita Falls Independent School District.

In addition to her professional achievements, Michelle was an avid painter. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a technology guru. According to Jon, she also loved watching Football? She cherished time spent with her family, friends, and her beloved dogs, Sweet Pea and Milo.

Michelle and Jon attended Our Lady Queen of Peace and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life and provided much solace and community.

She is survived by her Husband, Jon Keller; Mother, Lani Smith; Brothers, Jeff Smith and wife Michelle, Thomas Smith, James Smith and wife Therese; Aunt, Cathy Powell and Uncle Steve Powell, Uncle Tom Rathbun; Father-in-Law, Steve Keller and wife Helen; Sister-in-Law, Stephanie Dishman and husband Jim, and nephews, Austin, Brandon and Remy.

She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Smith, Grandparents, Thomas and Marie Rathbun, James and Naomi Smith, and her fur baby, Zoey Jane.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 25th 2024 from 6:00 to 6:30 PM in the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation to follow from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. A service to celebrate Michelle's life will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace with a graveside service to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wichita Falls.

Contributions may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in memory of Michelle.
