

Milagros Y. “Mila” Somerville, 82, longtime resident of Wichita Falls died Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Wichita, KS where she moved to be near her daughter. Services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, 14, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Deacon Jim Bindel. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Mila was born January 17, 1930 in Tarlac City, Tarlac, in the Philippines to Melquaides and Victoria Sigua Yumul. She married Donald Ramon Somerville May 26, 1971 in Tarlac City and together they raised three daughters. Mila had a very interesting occupational background. She was a singer and actress in her younger years before becoming a teacher in the public school system. While still teaching she began her own business as a seamstress. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a very devout Catholic.
Mrs. Somerville is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Donald Somerville in 2001; her parents; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and John Ryan of Wichita, KS, Catherine and Jeremy Caldwell, Mona and O.D. Martin III, all of Wichita Falls; sisters, Soledad Mendiola of Wheaton, IL, Germana Palisoc of Necedah, WI; and thirteen grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary beginning at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Jim Bindel.
