

Funeral Service will be at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel at 11 AM Saturday January 9, 2021 with Pastor Ike Butterworth officiating at Crestview Memorial Park. Viewing will be held all day January 7 and 8. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born on July 24, 1938 to Richard and Doris Hodges in Electra, Texas. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1956. On October 10, 1958, she married the love of her life Jerry D. Bell in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Myrtle was a member and on the board of Wichita Falls Christian Women’s Association, on the board of Wichita Falls Maternity Cottage, past President and member of the Wichita Falls Ostomy Association, Volunteer Red Cross and American Heart Association. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and past Deacon.
Myrtle enjoyed their homes in South Fork and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She loved to have people come there for visits when it was too hot in Texas. She made many lifelong friends during these years traveling with her Marine Corps husband to North Carolina, Hawaii, California, Minnesota, and Virginia and her childhood friends from Electra, Texas.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Martha Reeves, Margaret Hoover and brother Richard Hodges.
Myrtle is survived by her husband of 62 years Jerry Bell of Wichita Falls, daughter Paula and husband Dan Ward, daughter Pam and husband Danny Koch, all of Wichita Falls, TX, son Jerry Ray and wife Michelle Bell of Keller, Texas; grandchildren John and wife Rechea Ward, Laura and husband Nathan Vaughn, Jenifer and husband Scott Matthesen, Chad Koch and girlfriend Sidney Brummer, Devon Bell and Drake Bell. Great Grandchildren Alyssa and Kalli Matthesen, Brynlie, Brooks, Beckett and Blakely Ward, Harrison and Kennedy Vaughn and Baby Koch due January 2021, her sister Mary Askew of Canton, Texas along with many other family members and dear friends.
In Lieu of Flowers, the Family Request Memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
Our family would like to thank Dr. McClellan, Dr. Schultz, Dr. Tezaguic, Dr. Anderson and 1st Texas Home Health for their care over the years.
