

Noble “Gene” Harvie Phillips, 88, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm Friday, November 20, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10am Saturday, November 21, at Hampton Vaughan Chapel with Rev. Wayne Blackshear of Paris, Texas, officiating; interment to follow at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Clifton McFadden from Word of Grace, in Iowa Park, Texas.
Gene was born October 14, 1927 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Floyd and Mollie Phillips. Gene served his country honorably by joining the Navy at a very young age. He married Alta on October 5, 1947 and moved to Wichita Falls in the early 1940s. He was a member of The Church of God. Gene loved gardening and being outdoors with the grandkids. Gene was a hardworking man and spent over 40 years doing what he loved in the oilfield; working for Clark Operating. He also was interested in flying in his younger years; he even obtained his pilot’s license. He loved joking with family and friends.
Gene is preceded in death by: wife, Alta; sisters, Bonnie Goforth and Myrtle Hamilton; brothers, Henry and John Phillips.
Survivors include: children; Joyce Blevins and husband Howard, Rodney Phillips and wife Carolyn, Debbie Reeder and husband John; grandchildren, Stacey Blevins, Crystal Short and husband Paul, Misty Dailey and husband Darren, Annette Reeder, Kevin Phillips and wife Jene, Jessica Fino and husband Joey, Jason Reeder and wife Sarah, Sabrina McAlvin, and Kristina Atkins; great grandchildren, Shelby, Cierra, Bailey, Graham, Rylee, Blake, Luke, Auria, Gibson, Addison, Noah, and Anastasia; sister-in-law, Nancy Gee, and numerous nieces and nephews
