Ola Schmidt

She was the oldest of 6 children. When Ola was 12 years old, her mother passed away and she had to quit school to take care of her siblings. On July 8, 1948, she married William Fletcher Schmidt and together they raised 3 children, Rodney, Sandy and Carol. Ola and Fletcher enjoyed square dancing, bowling and they loved to travel. She sometimes worked part time jobs, but mostly she loved being a house wife and a mother. Fletcher died in 1992.

In 1994, Ola married Charles E. Katlic. Charles died in 2014.

Ola is preceded in death by husband Fletcher Schmidt, husband, Chuck Katlic, daughter, Sandy Swalwell, brothers, Virgil Nash, Nathan Nash, Norman Nash, H.D. Nash and sister, Annie Vaughan.

She is survived by son, Rodney Schmidt and wife, Terry, daughter, Carol Schmidt, grandchildren, Irene Yocum, Scott Swalwell and wife, Aubrey, Jamie Schmidt and Kiley Schmidt, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for OLA will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Mausoleum Chapel. 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302.
