She was born on January 2, 1968 to Professor Joshua and Julie Faniran. Olayemi was an alumna of Queens School Ibadan and University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She completed her training in Psychiatry and worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS in United Kingdom for some years. She also completed her residency at the University of Texas.
Olayemi was also a board-certified Psychiatrist in Wichita Falls and received multiple awards recognizing her dedication to her profession by both the professional board and patients.
Olayemi was the best daughter, sister, aunty, sister-in-law, mentor and friend anyone could ever wish for.
Olayemi loved Jesus with all her heart and was a woman of faith and a very generous giver to God’s work. She was prayerful and loved and believed the word of God passionately and lived by the word. This made her resilient, firm, courageous and strong. Olayemi was compassionate and altogether sweet and lovely.
One of her quotes was ‘Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations’
Olayemi exuded the qualities of a virtuous woman. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31:29-30).
Olayemi will be missed by many who have been blessed by the grace of God upon her life.
She is survived by her parents Joshua and Julie Faniran, brothers Segun and Yinka Faniran and sister, Bolaji Adewale; nephews & nieces as well as family and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister Peju Odidi.
