Paula was born on March 14, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to John Cleveland Pierson, Jr. and Lurlene Grantham Pierson. Paula was a Christian and member of the Presbyterian Church. She left Wichita Falls in the 1960’s and lived in many states from Texas to Connecticut. Her educational background was centered around Art History and the arts.
Paula is survived by her husband Steven Fasken, of Dallas, Texas, daughter, Kelley Noble of Wichita Falls, Texas, and daughter, Melissa Price (Steven) and granddaughters, Siena Price and Skye Price, of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Paula is preceded in death by her parents, John Cleveland Pierson, Jr. and Lurlene Grantham Pierson, and her sister, Lana Pierson.
Love of her life and greatest confidant, Steven Fasken, shared a great life of travel, work and laughter throughout the years. The most treasured and blessed experience of her life was being a mother and grandmother (LaLa) to her precious girls. Paula cherished her time with her family, loved her life as an artist, travel and being at home in Northern New Mexico. Her family and friends were very dear to her. She always stayed connected with her cousins through family reunions and her childhood friends throughout her life. She loved you all and was so grateful for the love, kind thoughts, wishes and prayers.
For many years, Paula shared her time by serving on numerous boards including Children’s Advocacy, Art Museums, and Art, Music, and Dance nonprofits. She felt it was an honor and held a special meaning to give back to those who were less fortunate. Closest to her heart were School Art, Music, and Dance programs throughout Northern New Mexico, which she supported and expanded. Serving on The Fasken Foundation board provided an educational insight into the unending needs of our society.
Paula was an accomplished professional artist and a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society. Her art was represented in galleries in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. She enjoyed teaching and sharing her knowledge of art with people of all ages. Her love of figure skating and ice dance resulted in testing to the silver level and an appointment as a United States Figure Skating Judge.
The family would like to thank all who have shown their love, support, prayers, and kindness during this time. We would also like to recognize Paula’s caregivers, Monica with Heart-to-Heart Hospice and Enetty, Comfort, Dorcas, Rudo, Maureen and Roselinda with Cambridge Care Givers for the wonderful care they provided to Paula.
