Peter George Robitaille (77) of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away on Sept 30, 2019 at the Hospice of Wichita Falls. He was born in 1941 in Baltic CT to his parents Walter Robitaille and Phyllis (Bell) Robitaille. He was united in marriage on August 20, 1974 to Noot (known as Bia) (Emsrigal) Robitaille, who survives him. He is also survived by his three daughters, Stacey and her husband Marvin Morgan, Penny Dinkins, and Angela and her husband Fredrick Toms. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob Linderman and his wife Bobbie Jo, Amanda Linderman, Ashley Dinkins, Ciera Dinkins, Bret Fee and Michael Toms, and great grandchildren Gabriel Linderman, Zachary Linderman, Marius Lily, Aubrey Dinkins, Alesana Fee and another baby Linderman due in January. He was predeceased by both parents, and his first wife Sharon (Elliott) Robitaille Stallings Colby. He leaves behind many family and friends all over the country who hold fond memories of the time they spend with him. He enlisted in the Air Force and was selected for Officer’s Candidate School, making him one of a chosen few “Mustangs”. He rose to the rank of Major, during which time he got his degree in Electrical Engineering. He flew T-37’s and T-38’s and brought his daughters to air shows to share his passion for flying with them. He worked as a pilot instructor, later piloting aircraft for maintenance and repair for the USAF, before retiring from the Air Force. He taught many pilots, some of whom would go on to fly for NASA. He was also an advanced flight instructor for many others, including one who would later become president: George W. Bush. Though he traveled extensively in the Air Force including Thailand (where he met his wife Noot) and Alaska, and retired in Texas, one of his favorite places to be was the family cottage in Groton Long Point CT where he and his family spent lots of time and made many happy memories. He continued to return after his retirement every fall for many years. He had many hobbies and interests including his Citrons (his cars which he spend many hours working on - to the delight of his younger cousins), swimming, boating and sailing (also sharing this with his girls), remote-controlled air planes, photography and collecting. He will be greatly missed. Memorial service with full military honors will be held in Wichita Falls Texas on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the family plot in CT.
