Born on June 16, 1955, in Wichita Falls to John D. and Minnie Lou James, Phillip lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula James, with whom he shared a life of devotion and partnership. Phillip and Paula were married on February 23, 1980, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
A proud graduate of Wichita Falls High School, Phillip never lost his lifelong love for the Coyotes. He carried that hometown pride with him throughout his life, often recalling memories from his school days and cheering on his team with steadfast enthusiasm.
Phillip owned and operated Texoma Tire in Wichita Falls for nearly 40 years, where he built a reputation for honesty, craftsmanship, and dedication to his customers. Through his leadership and hard work, Texoma Tire became a trusted name in the community—and continues to serve Wichita Falls today under new ownership.
Beyond his trade, Phillip was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman who found peace and joy in nature. A man of deep compassion, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. His quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering sense of right and wrong left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Phillip Joshua James, daughter-in-law, Jackie James, and grandson, John Paul James, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of faith, humility, and kindness.
A memorial service celebrating Phillip’s life will be held at a later date.
