Randle Sherman, Sr. was the 4th child of the late Nathan and Beckie (Smith) Sherman, born in Crockett, Tx on June 15, 1953. Randle walked into the warm arms of Our Heavenly Father on Friday March 6, 2015 while at Dallas Medical Center in Dallas Texas after a lengthy illness.
Most of Randle's life was spent in Wichita Falls where he attended Booker T Washington Elementary, Eastside Junior High, Booker T Washington High School and 1971 he graduated from John Hirschi High School. While at Hirschi he was a member of the football team where his positions were guard and defensive end.
At an early age Randle accepted Our Lord as his personal Savior and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Later in his membership role he found gratification from being an active part of the Nursing Home Ministry going on monthly visits to River Oaks Care Center, weekly Adult Sunday School class and church attendance.
Randle's hobbies were a prelude to his places of employment with various companies as PPG, Bush Antique Restorations, Herb Easley Chevrolet-Body Shop just to name a few. At each one he was able to broaden and perfect his interests. Often times you could share in his joyous fulfillment once he'd completed an antique piece, heard the rich throaty rumble of an engine (in person or while watching NASCAR) and witness the sleek look & the reflection caught after he detailed a vehicle. One would be wowed by the bountiful crop from his garden and healthy eating habits as he discovered new herbs and spices. You may have even witnessed THE CATCH OF THE DAY at the end of a fishing trip and to not forget his unabating allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys. For many years Randle forged and maintained lifelong friendships across the country by way of his CB where his handle was "Boogerman".
Randle lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such chatting with family and friends, searching finds at flea markets and playing the lottery. He had a laugh that would begin with a chuckle then would erupt into a joyous outburst. Those around couldn't help but join into the side splitting giggle, sometimes not even knowing as to why they were laughing but wanting a piece of his jubilation. “…home is where the heart is. Peace and your long life.” was the warm greeting all received via his answering machine.
His legacy is filled with love for his four children Tamika of Denison, TX, Ralo (Cynthia) of Duncanville, TX, TaKeyla of Sherman, TX, and Randle, Jr. of Dallas, TX. His sisters Choica Bradley of Wichita Falls, TX, Helen Dillard of Converse, TX and Tawni Sherman of Plano, TX. Along with 9 grandchildren, a great grandchild, a Brother-In-Law, an uncle, aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss him dearly. Randle's beloved and loyal dog Red whom he fondly referred to as Uncle Red, will also miss playful days with his master.
Randle was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia Sherman and Thompsine Newman, grandparents Hosea and Mabel Smith and Walter and Essie Sherman.
