

Richard H. Byrd, Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1pm, Friday May 22, at Welch Street Church of Christ. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, from 6pm to 8pm at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Richard was born on March 20, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Lula and Richard Byrd, Sr. He graduated from Rider High School. Richard Served in the Army from 1969 till 1971. He later worked for Sprauge Electric, retired from Bill Bartley YMCA branch, and then worked for Red River Harley Davidson. In 2006 Richard married Patricia Byrd. Richard loved playing with his grandkids. He was extremely proud of his model train collection, as well as his baseball cards and stamp collections. He also loved to play dominos, cards, and checkers.
Richard is preceded in death by father Richard Henry Byrd Sr., mother Lula Nash Reed, sister Dorothy Fowler, brother Larry Byrd.
Richard is survived by; sister Charlene of Wichita Falls, TX, brothers Carl of San Antonio, TX, Kenneth, Daniel, Ray of Wichita Falls, TX, and Johnny of Everman, TX, daughters Constance of Duncanville, TX, Shifon of Dallas, TX, Anglea of Dallas, TX, Shawnta of Jacksboro, TX, and Amanda of Mansfield, TX, grandchildren Delicia, Jerod, Kaleb, Cody, Taylor, April, Hayden, and Weston, great-grandchildren, Londynn, and Myra, and many Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
