Mr. Bob was born on July 26, 1934 in El Paso, TX to Fredrick and Marie Mengel. He was a graduate of North Dallas High School in 1953 and received his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas in 1957. He was an active member in the First Baptist Church serving as a deacon, and later as an elder and Sunday school teacher with the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bob owned and operated the Longhorn Chevrolet Dealership for 35 years. Giving back to the community played a major role in Mr. Bob's life and being a member of Rotary International helped serve that role. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and presided as President of the Wichita Falls Rotary Club. He enjoyed a wide variety of fun and interesting hobbies, among his favorites were astronomy and photography. Mr. Bob was an award-winning photographer and always enjoyed sharing his work with others.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Barbara M.; daughters Michelle Cadman, Malaye Kinder and husband Brian; and grandsons James and Trent Cadman.
Visitation will be held at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home on Archer City Highway Friday November 16th from 4 to 7:30 PM, and a graveside service will be held at Crestview Cemetery on Saturday November 17th at 3 PM.
