

On April 16, 2025, "Mama Rose" at 97 years of age joined her beloved husband of 65 years, Jack Bearden, in Heaven. Rosie Lee Bearden was born in Waldo, Arkansas on July 24, 1927 to Ethel and Thomas Thrailkill. After graduation from Waldo High School she attended LSU where she met young Army Air Corps 1st Lieutenant Jack Bearden returning from WWII. They married August 31, 1947. Rosie and Jack moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1951 and built a home on Burlington Street to raise three children. As a homemaker, Rosie was delighted in cooking and gardening. She embraced friendships with neighbors, members of First Christian Church, Petroleum Engineer Wives, and Black Angus Cattle Association members. Rosie spent her last decade in Wimberley, Texas enjoying the company of her daughter Jackie and family.
Rosie is survived by son Charles Bearden and wife Vicki of Lincolnton, Georgia, and son Roger Bearden and wife Jill of Sandpoint, Idaho. Her grandchildren are Shannon Maloy Weems and husband Billy, Hunter Maloy and wife Julia, Chuck Bearden and wife Krysha, Carol Bearden-Schmid and husband Rob, Mike Bearden and wife Candace. Great grandchildren are Hadley Weems, Walker Weems, Jack Maloy, Charlie Maloy, Eliana Rose Maloy and Parker Nicole Bearden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Rosie is predeceased by her husband Jack E. Bearden, daughter Jackie Lee Maloy Stribling, sisters, Margaret Watkins of Waldo, AR., and Susie Scott of Albuquerque, NM., and brother Tommy Thrailkill of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:.00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home with Dr. David Hartman officiating.
Mama Rose and Daddy Jack were blessed to live long lives surrounded by their many friends and family. We love and miss you!
