I still feel caught between a nightmare and reality. You'd be happy to know that I have 2 very good friends. I wish you could meet them. The saddest of all is how our son is growing into a young man without you. His voice is getting deeper. His leg hair is so mannish. He's growing and he needs you, I need you. I told my staff that Saturday marked the one year of the passing of my favorite patient. I miss you, your big smile, the laughter and bantering that we shared.  You had a special personality one I wish I had. I miss you and you will always be my favorite patient! I know you're in a better place now. Please watch over all your family and friends. Well, I just realized it's been an entire year since u left us. And lemme just say it doesn't feel like it at all. Since then my brother has passed as well. I'm sure u have already been kicking it lol. Anyways we miss u uncle sal. Love you

Today makes a year that you left us.
The time just  flew but we still feel the emptiness in our hearts.  You always lit up the room with your big, beautiful smile.  We miss your willingness to help when one needed a hand but mainly just being here to share life with.
The Lord took you to a better place and had other plans for you though.

He knew he loved me as soon as he saw me (stalking purposefully from B turn out to 8 building) after that he found reasons to speak to me and finally in Dec of 07 he did it, he did something seemingly impossible, he impressed me and I fell so in-love with him. Our love IS beautiful. He adores me and I adore him.  We are soulmates and I bore him the son I promised and just as he wished for. He was ecstatic and we were so very happy as a family. There are so many stories I could tell you. Our love truly was a Faerie tale, our son his pride and joy and his legacy.  I would love for everyone to get together a year from now to gather and share stories about this beautiful man who was taken far too soon. I love you Husband always and forever. I will take  very good care of our son as promised. Feel free to give me advice. 😇😉 Jake and I (your beautiful wife) love and miss you. Never forget us. SGT Teruel was one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. When I first started at TDCJ as a cadet, at a first glance, he gave me drill sergeant vibes because he had a stoic demeanor and didn’t talk much. But, when he finally spoke, our class would almost always respond with nothing short of laughter. He was quick-witted and it was hard to go back and forth with someone with that level of sarcasm. He made those long days well worth it. It was a privilege to get to know him and I send my deepest condolences to his family. 

Sal and Jennifer were our friends, and they helped take care of whomever may have needed it, including their neighbor, my mother. Sal often did work for my mother without her even having to ask, and he taught us what it meant to be a neighbor and a friend. We will miss spending time with them, and have many fond memories playing board games, dominoes, and lots of long talks. He was a smart and dedicated man who will live on in the hearts of those who love him. 

Ill never forget the careing person Salvador was. He was a great dad to my niece and nephew a wonderful husband to my sister and an awesome uncle to my kids. U will never be forgotten UNCLE SAL. 

Salvador was a friend from the gym and great mentor to my fiance' Lori Quintanilla.  He had done some work on my house just a few weeks before he got sick.  I was so sad to see this and so was Lori, Salvador was a great guy and will be sadly missed.

Sal was like a brother to me. We talked about anything and everything. It is rare to meet someone who can light up a room with his smile and make you laugh until you cry. So quick witted sometimes it was hard to banter with him. He was unique and genuine. An incredibly special man! May the spirit of his laughter live on and put a smile on the faces of his friends and family when they think of him. With heart felt sympathy to all those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed!!

I always enjoyed inservice when Sgt Teruel was there.He made it fun but  always showed his concern for our safety at work.   
I often seen  him at the gym and teased him about his small calves and that mine were bigger than his.  He will truly be missed.

Chuy and you tinkering around the backyard and wondering what you guys are up to.
I will miss you at family gatherings. 
You never failed to make your way to me, pat me on the shoulder and say, 'Hey girl' and ask how I was.   You always asked about my family and seemed so genuine. 
I can see why so many looked up to you and admired you. 
You will always be in our hearts and I know that we will see eachother again.  I can't wait to see your smile again.

Worked along side Salvador when he came in for overtime or during inservice. I’ll never forget every monday of inservice he always was talkin about donut Thursday’s. He always made work a fun time and he would give his shirt of his back for you. You for sure will be missed but not forgotten. 

Salvador was our neighbor  down the street. We grew up together in dog patch. He was always joking around or just smiling.  He was a very loving man.  He will be missed by all. May his family find peace during this hard time. Sending my condolences and prayers for all.

Zoila, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. May God wrap his arms around you and your family and give you comfort and peace in your heart. 

In-service with you ever since you went to training before you retired was a blast. I will never forget the memories I have of you throughout my career. Go easy man.

Teruel,  you will truly be missed. You were a great mentor and friend. You made us laugh when we were down. You were always helping others including me. God bless you and your family. You go and rest now until we meet again.

I always enjoyed seeing him at the Y. He was always so kind & friendly. I will miss him.

We had the privilege of working with Salvador for quite a few years.  He helped us at work and off of work.

He was a kind and friendly soul.  We will miss him.

I worked with Teruel for many years at the Allred when I was a nurse there. He was a bright spot in a dark place. I will never forget the laughter we had together and his great sense of humor. Every time I saw him after I left the Allred it was a big smile and a great handshake. I met his  brothers and sister while teaching nursing classes. The whole family are dear people. I am in complete shock over this . I am so sorry. He was a great man. 

I will never forget you.  I shall always remember the years of laughter and kindness you've shown that made coming to work a joy. So many memories.  I shall miss you. Ms. Reeves
