Sandra P Sturges

Sandra Patricia “Pat” Elliott Skelton Sturges, age 85, passed away peacefully December 16, 2023. She was born April 3, 1938 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Coomer and Margaret (Smith) Elliott. She was married to Johnny R. Skelton in June of 1953 until his passing in 1997. In 2003, Pat met and married Robert G. Sturges, who passed in 2013.

Pat enjoyed fishing, crocheting, dancing, reading and working puzzles of all kinds. She got great joy from crocheting special requests for grandkids and great-grandkids. Pat was especially proud of donating crocheted stuffies to Patsy’s House.

For many years, Pat worked in the retail industry with her longest tenure being Kmart for 28 years. She seemed to always be in motion. If you wanted to visit her at work, you had to be prepared to hang returns or fold clothing alongside her.

Pat is survived by her sister, Phyllis McGraw; her son, Johnny R. Skelton, Jr. and wife Carol; her daughters and their husbands, Debra and Brad Robinson, Cheryl and Dickey Sours, Sr., Vicki and Larry Higgins; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; her dear friend, Toni Brock-Gaffney; and her furbaby, Daisy. Predeceasing Pat are her husbands; her parents; her brother, Quan; grandson, Gregg Higgins and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Hancock.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 6, under the direction of Hampton Vaughan CrestviewFuneral Home.
