
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 2 at the First Baptist Church in Lueders, Texas.
Shirley was born April 19, 1938.
Shirley was a track star at Lueders High School where she competed in state track meet. She graduated from Lueders High School in 1956. She attended multiple colleges in her life attaining several degrees which included Nursing, Doll Technology, Poetry, Children's Books, and the ATI Technical School. Shirley married Tommy Freeman and was initially a homemaker while her husband was a classical musician and later a salesman.
She was an active member of the Lueders Baptist Church, supported the Girl Scouts, Policemans Association, American Cancer Society and many other charities throughout her life.
Her interests included family, sewing, ceramics, writing children's books, poetry, and restoring dolls. She devoted much of her time and energy as a nurse, helping others in need.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband: Thomas "Tommy" Allen Freeman.
Mrs. George is survived by her 3 sons and their spouses: James and Betty Freeman, Thomas and Christi Freeman and Drew and Linda Freeman; daughter: Dee Freeman; grandchildren: Chelsea, Charity, Alex, Thomas, Hannah, James, Samantha, Raylee, Jason, and Annabelle; and great-grandchild: Rissa.
