Sally Abitbol Surles was born on May 16, 1926 in Casa Blanca, Morocco, North Africa.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Ralph and Messody Cohen Medina Abitbol, husband, Odies William Surles, sons, Ralph Surles and Coy Surles and daughter-in-law, Pam Surles.
Sally leaves behind her sons, Willie Surles and Bobby Surles, daughters-in-law, Debbie Surles, Dianne Surles and Pennye Surles, eight grandchildren, Mark, Kelly, Chais, Lesli, Jolene, Scott, Cody and Cooper, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Sally and Odies met during World War II while Odies served in the United States Army. During this time Sally worked as a typist and an interpreter. She spoke six languages fluently. Sally and Odies were married in Paris, France on February 12, 1947. They moved to the United States where she raised her four sons and worked in the family business. She was happiest when playing golf and traveling with her grandchildren alongside. Sally was a one-of-a-kind woman who had her own language, was always up for an adventure, loved helping and serving others and would always have a big pot of “roni’s” on the stove in a moment’s notice. Sally’s red lips and infectious laugh will forever live on in our hearts.
