

Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Vigil and Rosary will be 7 P.M. Friday, August 20, 2021 at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Food Bank of Wichita
Falls, or to the Make a Wish Foundation.
Thomas Joseph Callahan was born November 3, 1946 in Havertown, PA. to the late Thomas A. Callahan and Catherine (Whearty) Callahan.
After his service and honorable discharge from the Air Force, Thomas sought employment and was hired as a jailor for Wichita Falls Sheriff’s Department. He became a deputy and eventually obtained the rank of Lieutenant. Thomas was appointed Sheriff in 1986, ran for Sheriff in 1988 and was elected Sheriff for the next 5 terms. He was the longest serving sheriff in Wichita County. Thomas retired on Dec. 31, 2008. He was then hired by Midwestern State University to teach Criminal Justice Classes until his second retirement three years later.
Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Francis.
He is survived by his sister, Catherine, brothers, Joseph, Brian and Patrick.
Thomas also leaves behind his wife, Mary Anne, two daughters, Siobain and Coreen, two sons, Thomas and Aiden, eight grandchildren and a nephew, Daniel Ahern.
The family wishes to thank Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Bowie for their dedication to taking good care of Tom and Hospice of Wichita Falls for their exemplary care. The nurses of both organizations cared for Tom until his passing and the family will always be grateful.

hand. Rest in peace. You will be deeply missed.
